About Tour du Mont Blanc
The Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB) is one of Europe’s most iconic long-distance hikes, circling the Mont Blanc massif through France, Italy, and Switzerland. The route offers dramatic alpine scenery, glacier views, and charming mountain villages.
The hike does not require technical skills, but good physical fitness is essential. Over approximately 164 km, hikers face daily elevation gains often exceeding 1,000 meters. Les Houches in France is the most common starting point.
The trail is culturally rich, blending French, Italian, and Swiss influences. Accommodation ranges from rustic mountain refuges to comfortable valley hotels. Wild camping is highly restricted along the route.
